ततस तं मारुतं घॊरं सवयम्भूर मनुजाधिप आदि पद्मालयस्ल देवः पीत्वा सवपिति भारत ॥ ३-१८६-७६ ॥
'And then, O Ruler of Men, the Self-born Lord, the primal cause of all, dwelling in the lotus, drinks the fierce winds and falls into sleep, O Bharata!' ॥ 3-186-76 ॥
english translation
tatasa taM mArutaM ghòraM savayambhUra manujAdhipa Adi padmAlayasla devaH pItvA savapiti bhArata ॥ 3-186-76 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिन्न एकार्णवे घॊरे नष्टे सथावरजङ्गमे नष्टे देवासुरगणे यक्षाराक्षस वर्जिते ॥ ३-१८६-७७ ॥
'And then, when the universe becomes a vast, lifeless ocean, with all mobile and immobile creatures destroyed, the gods and Asuras ceased to exist, and the Yakshas and Rakshasas are no more—' ॥ 3-186-77 ॥
english translation
tasminna ekArNave ghòre naSTe sathAvarajaGgame naSTe devAsuragaNe yakSArAkSasa varjite ॥ 3-186-77 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिर्मनुष्ये महीपाल निःश्वापद महीरुहे अनन्तरिक्षे लॊके ऽसमिन भरमाम्य एकॊ ऽहम आदृतः ॥ ३-१८६-७८ ॥
'When mankind has vanished, when trees and beasts of prey are no more, when the very firmament has ceased to exist, I alone, O Lord of the Earth, wander in sorrow.' ॥ 3-186-78 ॥

nirmanuSye mahIpAla niHzvApada mahIruhe anantarikSe lòke 'samina bharamAmya ekò 'hama AdRtaH ॥ 3-186-78 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएकार्णवे जले घॊरे विचरन पार्थिवॊत्तम अपश्यन सर्वभूतानि वैक्लव्यम अगमं परम ॥ ३-१८६-७९ ॥
'And, O best of kings, as I wander over that dreadful expanse of water, my heart is filled with sorrow, for I see no living creature.' ॥ 3-186-79 ॥

ekArNave jale ghòre vicarana pArthivòttama apazyana sarvabhUtAni vaiklavyama agamaM parama ॥ 3-186-79 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः सुदीर्घं गत्वा तु पलवमानॊ नराधिप शरान्तः कव चिन न शरणं लभाम्य अहम अतन्द्रितः ॥ ३-१८६-८० ॥
'And, O King, wandering endlessly through that flood, I grow weary, but find no place to rest!' ॥ 3-186-80 ॥

tataH sudIrghaM gatvA tu palavamAnò narAdhipa zarAntaH kava cina na zaraNaM labhAmya ahama atandritaH ॥ 3-186-80 ॥
