ततस ते जलदा घॊरा राविणः पुरुषर्षभ सर्वतः पलावयन्त्य आशु चॊदिताः परमेष्ठिना ।। ३-१८६-७१ ।।

sanskrit

'And, O Bull of the Bharatas, urged by the Supreme Lord, those clouds, roaring fearfully, swiftly flood the entire surface of the Earth.' ।। 3-186-71 ।।

english translation

tatasa te jaladA ghòrA rAviNaH puruSarSabha sarvataH palAvayantya Azu còditAH parameSThinA || 3-186-71 ||

वर्षमाणा महत तॊयं पूरयन्तॊ वसुंधराम सुघॊरम अशिवं रौद्रं नाशयन्ति च पावकम ।। ३-१८६-७२ ।।

'Pouring down a vast quantity of water and filling the entire Earth, they extinguish that dreadful and inauspicious fire I have already mentioned to you.' ।। 3-186-72 ।।

varSamANA mahata tòyaM pUrayantò vasuMdharAma sughòrama azivaM raudraM nAzayanti ca pAvakama || 3-186-72 ||

'Urged by the illustrious Lord, those clouds, filling the Earth with their relentless downpour, rain incessantly for twelve years.' ।। 3-186-73 ।।

'Then, O Bharata, the Ocean overflows its bounds, the mountains crumble into fragments, and the Earth sinks beneath the rising flood.' ।। 3-186-74 ।।

tataH samudraH savAM velAma atikrAmati bhArata parvatAza ca vizIryante mahI cApi vizIryate || 3-186-74 ||

'Then, driven suddenly by the force of the wind, those clouds move across the entire expanse of the sky and vanish from sight.' ।। 3-186-75 ।।
