तस्मिन युगसहस्रान्ते संप्राप्ते चायुषः कषये अनावृष्टिर महाराज जायते बहु वार्षिकी ॥ ३-१८६-५६ ॥
'O King, as the four Yugas near their end and the lifespans of men grow exceedingly brief, a great drought emerges, lasting for many years.' ॥ 3-186-56 ॥
english translation
ततस तान्य अल्पसाराणि सत्त्वानि कषुधितानि च परलयं यान्ति भूयिष्ठं पृथिव्यां पृथिवीपते ॥ ३-१८६-५७ ॥
'And then, O Lord of the Earth, beings endowed with little strength and vitality, driven by hunger, perish by the thousands.' ॥ 3-186-57 ॥
english translation
ततॊ दिनकरैर दीप्तैः सप्तभिर मनुजाधिप पीयते सलिलं सर्वं समुद्रेषु सरित्सु च ॥ ३-१८६-५८ ॥
'Then, O Lord of Men, seven blazing Suns rise in the sky and consume all the waters of the Earth, whether in rivers or seas.' ॥ 3-186-58 ॥
english translation
यच च काष्ठं तृणं चापि शुष्कं चार्द्रं च भारत सर्वं तद भस्मसाद भूतं दृश्यते भरतर्षभः ॥ ३-१८६-५९ ॥
'And then, O Bull of the Bharata race, all things—whether wood, grass, wet or dry—are consumed and reduced to ashes.' ॥ 3-186-59 ॥

ततः संवर्तकॊ वह्निर वायुना सह भारत लॊकम आविशते पूर्वम आदित्यैर उपशॊषितम ॥ ३-१८६-६० ॥
'And then, O Bharata, the fire known as Samvartaka, driven by the winds, appears on the Earth, which has already been reduced to cinders by the seven Suns.' ॥ 3-186-60 ॥
