नैव भूमिर न च दिशः परदिशॊ वा चकाशिरे सर्वम आम्भसम एवासीत खं दयौश च नरपुंगव ।। ३-१८५-४१ ।।

'Neither land nor the four cardinal directions could be distinguished.' ।। 3-185-41 ।।

naiva bhUmira na ca dizaH paradizò vA cakAzire sarvama Ambhasama evAsIta khaM dayauza ca narapuMgava || 3-185-41 ||

'Water was everywhere, covering both the heavens and the firmament. And, O bull of Bharata’s race, when the world was thus flooded, only Manu, the seven Rishis, and the fish could be seen.' ।। 3-185-42 ।।

evaM bhUte tadA lòke saMkule bharatarSabha adRzyanta saptarSayò manura matsyaH sahaiva ha || 3-185-42 ||

'Then, O descendant of Kuru and jewel of Bharata's race, it towed the vessel towards the highest peak of the Himavat.' ।। 3-185-44 ।।

tatò himavataH zRGgaM yata paraM puruSarSabha tatrAkarSata tatò nAvaM sa matsyaH kurunandana || 3-185-44 ||
