[सरस] न चाशुचिर नाप्य अनिर्णिक्तपाणिर; नाब्रह्मविज जुहुयान नाविपश्चित बुभुक्षवः शुचि कामा हि देवा; नाश्रद्दधानाद धि हविर जुषन्ति ।। ३-१८४-१३ ।।

sanskrit

'Saraswati replied, "One who is not impure, whose hands are clean, who is not unskilled in the Vedas, and who possesses discernment—only such a one should perform the Agnihotra. The gods, desiring purity and with clear minds, accept the offering. Those who lack faith or are unclean in body and mind do not benefit from the offering, for it is the sincerity and purity of the devotee that brings the offering to fruition."' ।। 3-184-13 ।।

english translation

[sarasa] na cAzucira nApya anirNiktapANira; nAbrahmavija juhuyAna nAvipazcita bubhukSavaH zuci kAmA hi devA; nAzraddadhAnAda dhi havira juSanti || 3-184-13 ||
