[मार्क] विवदन्तौ तथा तौ तु मुनीनां दर्शने सथितौ ये तस्य यज्ञे संवृत्तास ते ऽपृच्छन्त कथं तव इमौ ॥ ३-१८३-१६ ॥
'Markandeya continued, 'While those two were thus disputing in the presence of the Munis, who were engaged in Vainya's sacrifice, the latter inquired, "What is the cause of their loud argument?"'' ॥ 3-183-16 ॥
english translation
[mArka] vivadantau tathA tau tu munInAM darzane sathitau ye tasya yajJe saMvRttAsa te 'pRcchanta kathaM tava imau ॥ 3-183-16 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरवेशः केन दत्तॊ ऽयम अनयॊर वैन्य संसदि उच्चैः समभिभाषन्तौ केन कार्येण विष्ठितौ ॥ ३-१८३-१७ ॥
'Then the highly pious Kasyapa, learned in all religious lore, approached the disputants and inquired about the matter at hand.' ॥ 3-183-17 ॥

paravezaH kena dattò 'yama anayòra vainya saMsadi uccaiH samabhibhASantau kena kAryeNa viSThitau ॥ 3-183-17 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततः परमधर्मात्मा काश्यपः सर्वधर्मवित विवादिनाव अनुप्राप्तौ ताव उभौ परत्यवेदयत ॥ ३-१८३-१८ ॥
'Then the supreme soul, Kasyapa, who was well-versed in all dharmas, approached the disputants and inquired about the matter, asking them to explain their quarrel.' ॥ 3-183-18 ॥

tataH paramadharmAtmA kAzyapaH sarvadharmavita vivAdinAva anuprAptau tAva ubhau paratyavedayata ॥ 3-183-18 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथाब्रवीत सदस्यांस तु गौतमॊ मुनिसत्तमान आवयॊर वयाहृतं परश्नं शृणुत दविजपुंगवाः वैन्यॊ विधातेत्य आहात्रिर अत्र नः संशयॊ महान ॥ ३-१८३-१९ ॥
'Then Gautama, addressing the assembly of great Brahmanas, said, 'Listen, O esteemed sages, to the matter in dispute between us. Atri has declared that Vainya is the ruler of our destinies; this is the point on which we have great doubt.'' ॥ 3-183-19 ॥
english translation
athAbravIta sadasyAMsa tu gautamò munisattamAna Avayòra vayAhRtaM paraznaM zRNuta davijapuMgavAH vainyò vidhAtetya AhAtrira atra naH saMzayò mahAna ॥ 3-183-19 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशरुत्वैव तु महात्मानॊ मुनयॊ ऽभयद्रवन दरुतम सनत्कुमारं धर्मज्ञं संशय छेदनाय वै ॥ ३-१८३-२० ॥
'Markandeya continued, 'Upon hearing this, the great-minded Munis immediately went to Sanatkumara, the learned sage in dharma, to resolve their doubt.'' ॥ 3-183-20 ॥

zarutvaiva tu mahAtmAnò munayò 'bhayadravana darutama sanatkumAraM dharmajJaM saMzaya chedanAya vai ॥ 3-183-20 ॥
