मृगयां परिधावन स समेषु मरुधन्वसु विध्यन मृगाञ शरैः शुद्धैश चचार सुमहाबलः ॥ ३-१७५-११ ॥
'And the mighty Bhimasena, in pursuit of the hunt, roamed the flat and barren stretches of the mountain, striking down his game with unpoisoned arrows.' ॥ 3-175-11 ॥

स ददर्श महाकायं भुजङ्गं लॊमहर्षणम गिरिदुर्गे समापन्नं कायेनावृत्य कन्दरम ॥ ३-१७५-१२ ॥
'With the strength of a hundred elephants, he slew numerous large wild boars, his arms delivering each blow with tremendous force.' ॥ 3-175-12 ॥

पर्वताभॊगवर्ष्माणं भॊगैश चन्द्रार्कमण्डलैः चित्राङ्गम अजिनैश चित्रैर हरिद्रा सदृशछविम ॥ ३-१७५-१३ ॥
'[They saw him] with a body massive as a mountain, adorned with ornaments like the orbs of the sun and moon, with distinctive markings and spotted deerskins, and with a complexion like yellow turmeric.' ॥ 3-175-13 ॥

गुहाकारेण वक्त्रेण चतुर्दंष्ट्रेण राजता दीप्ताक्षेणातिताम्रेण लिहन्तं सृक्किणी मुहुः ॥ ३-१७५-१४ ॥
'With a cave-like mouth, four prominent fangs, glowing reddish eyes, and repeatedly licking his lips with an extremely red [tongue].' ॥ 3-175-14 ॥

तरासनं सर्वभूतानां कालान्तकयमॊपमम निःश्वासक्ष्वेड नादेन भर्त्सयन्तम इव सथितम ॥ ३-१७५-१५ ॥
'Terrifying to all beings, like Death/Yama at the end of time, standing as if threatening [everyone] with the hissing sound of his breath.' ॥ 3-175-15 ॥
