[मा] पुलॊमा नाम दैतेयी कालका च महासुरी दिव्यं वर्षसहस्रं ते चेरतुः परमं तपः तपसॊ ऽनते ततस ताभ्यां सवयम्भूर अददाद वरम ॥ ३-१७०-६ ॥

'Thereupon, Matali replied, 'Once, a Daitya's daughter named Puloma, along with the mighty Asura woman Kalaka, practiced severe austerities for a thousand celestial years. At the end of their penance, the self-born granted them boons.'' ॥ 3-170-6 ॥

[mA] pulòmA nAma daiteyI kAlakA ca mahAsurI divyaM varSasahasraM te ceratuH paramaM tapaH tapasò 'nate tatasa tAbhyAM savayambhUra adadAda varama ॥ 3-170-6 ॥

अगृह्णीतां वरं ते तु सुतानाम अल्पदुःखताम अवध्यतां च राजेन्द्र सुरराक्षस पन्नगैः ॥ ३-१७०-७ ॥

'And, O King of kings, they were granted these boons: that their offspring would never suffer misfortune, would be impervious to destruction by the gods, Rakshasas, and Pannagas.' ॥ 3-170-7 ॥

agRhNItAM varaM te tu sutAnAma alpaduHkhatAma avadhyatAM ca rAjendra surarAkSasa pannagaiH ॥ 3-170-7 ॥

रमणीयं पुरं चेदं खचरं सुकृतप्रभम सर्वरत्नैः समुदितं दुर्धर्षम अमरैर अपि सयक्षगन्धर्वगणैः पन्नगासुरराक्षसैः ॥ ३-१७०-८ ॥

'And they would obtain a resplendent, unparalleled aerial city, adorned with every kind of gem, impervious even to the celestials, Maharshis, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Pannagas, Asuras, and Rakshasas.' ॥ 3-170-8 ॥

ramaNIyaM puraM cedaM khacaraM sukRtaprabhama sarvaratnaiH samuditaM durdharSama amaraira api sayakSagandharvagaNaiH pannagAsurarAkSasaiH ॥ 3-170-8 ॥

सर्वकामगुणॊपेतं वीतशॊकम अनामयम बरह्मणा भरतश्रेष्ठ कालकेय कृते कृतम ॥ ३-१७०-९ ॥

'O best of the Bharatas, this is the celestial aerial city, devoid of the gods, moving about, and created by Brahma himself for the Kalakeyas.' ॥ 3-170-9 ॥

sarvakAmaguNòpetaM vItazòkama anAmayama barahmaNA bharatazreSTha kAlakeya kRte kRtama ॥ 3-170-9 ॥

तद एतत खचरं दिव्यं चरत्य अमर वर्जितम पौलॊमाध्युषितं वीर कालकेयैश च दानवैः ॥ ३-१७०-१० ॥

'This city is endowed with all desirable objects, free from grief and disease. O hero, renowned by the name of Hiranyapura, this mighty city is inhabited by the Paulamas and the Kalakanjas.' ॥ 3-170-10 ॥

tada etata khacaraM divyaM caratya amara varjitama paulòmAdhyuSitaM vIra kAlakeyaiza ca dAnavaiH ॥ 3-170-10 ॥
