हिरण्यपुरम इत्य एतत खयायते नगरं महत रक्षितं कालकेयैश च पौलॊमैश च महासुरैः ।। ३-१७०-११ ।।

sanskrit

'This great city is known as Hiranyapura (The Golden City), Protected by the Kaleyas and the Paulomas, the great asuras.' ।। 3-170-11 ।।

english translation

hiraNyapurama itya etata khayAyate nagaraM mahata rakSitaM kAlakeyaiza ca paulòmaiza ca mahAsuraiH || 3-170-11 ||

'And, O King, unslain by any of the gods, they dwell there joyfully, free from anxiety and fully satisfied in all their desires, O foremost of kings. Long ago, Brahma had decreed their destruction at the hands of mortals. Therefore, O Partha, in battle, use the thunderbolt to bring about the demise of the mighty and unyielding Kalakanjas.' ।। 3-170-12 ।।

ta ete muditA nityama avadhyAH sarvadaivataiH nivasantya atra rAjendra gatòdvegA nirutsukAH mAnuSò mRtyura eteSAM nirdiSTò barahmaNA purA || 3-170-12 ||

'Arjuna continued, 'O lord of men, upon learning that they were invincible to both the celestials and the Asuras, I cheerfully said to Matali, 'Do hasten to that city without delay.'' ।। 3-170-13 ।।

'With my weapons, I shall bring about the annihilation of those who hate the Lord of the Celestials. Surely, no wicked foes of the gods exist who do not deserve to be slain by me.' ।। 3-170-14 ।।

taridazeza daviSò yAvata kaSayama astraira nayAmya ahama na kathaMcida dhi me pApA na vadhyA ye suradviSaH || 3-170-14 ||
