हतेष्व असुरसंघेषु दारास तेषां तु सर्वशः पराक्रॊशन नगरे तस्मिन यथा शरदि लक्ष्मणाः ॥ ३-१६९-२१ ॥
'When the hosts of asuras were slain, their wives (dārās) in that city cried out loudly everywhere, like cranes (lakṣmaṇās) in autumn (śaradi).' ॥ 3-169-21 ॥
english translation
ततॊ मातलिना सार्धम अहं तत पुरम अभ्ययाम तरासयन रथघॊषेण निवातकवचस्त्रियः ॥ ३-१६९-२२ ॥
'Then, accompanied by Matali, I entered the city, my chariot’s rumble striking fear into the wives of the Nivata-Kavachas.' ॥ 3-169-22 ॥
english translation
तान दृष्ट्वा दशसाहस्रान मयूरसदृशान हयान रथं च रविसंकाशं पराद्रवन गणशः सत्रियः ॥ ३-१६९-२३ ॥
'Upon seeing those ten thousand horses, resembling peacocks in color, and the chariot shining like the sun, the women fled in droves.' ॥ 3-169-23 ॥

ताभिर आभरणैः शब्दस तरासिताभिः समीरितः शिलानाम इव शैलेषु पतन्तीनाम अभूत तदा ॥ ३-१६९-२४ ॥
'Like the sound of rocks tumbling down a mountain, the clamor of the terrified women’s ornaments filled the air.' ॥ 3-169-24 ॥

वित्रस्ता दैत्य नार्यस ताः सवानि वेश्मान्य अथाविशन बहुरत्नविचित्राणि शातकुम्भमयानि च ॥ ३-१६९-२५ ॥
'In their panic, the wives of the Daityas fled to their jeweled, golden chambers, adorned with countless precious stones.' ॥ 3-169-25 ॥
