छित्त्वा परहरणान्य एषां ततस तान अपि सर्वशः परत्यविध्यम अहं रॊषाद दशभिर दशभिः शरैः ॥ ३-१६७-२१ ॥
'Furious, I severed their arms and, with wrath, pierced each of them with ten arrows.' ॥ 3-167-21 ॥

गाण्डीवाद धि तदा संख्ये यथा भरमरपङ्क्तयः निष्पतन्ति तथा बाणास तन मातलिर अपूजयत ॥ ३-१६७-२२ ॥
'In the battlefield, arrows flew from the Gandiva like swarms of black bees, and Matali admired this.' ॥ 3-167-22 ॥
english translation
तेषाम अपि तु बाणास ते बहुत्वाच छलभा इव अवाकिरन मां बलवत तान अहं वयधमं शरैः ॥ ३-१६७-२३ ॥
'Their shafts also rained upon me, but I cut them down with my own powerful arrows.' ॥ 3-167-23 ॥

वध्यमानास ततस ते तु निवातकवचाः पुनः शरवर्षैर महद्भिर मां समन्तात पर्यवारयन ॥ ३-१६७-२४ ॥
'Then, struck down, the Nivata-Kavachas once again surrounded me on all sides with a fierce shower of arrows.' ॥ 3-167-24 ॥

शरवेगान निहत्याहम अस्त्रैः शरविघातिभिः जवलद्भिः परमैः शीघ्रैस तान अविध्यं सहस्रशः ॥ ३-१६७-२५ ॥
'Having neutralized the force of their arrows with swift, flaming weapons that could thwart their arms, I pierced them by the thousands.' ॥ 3-167-25 ॥
