अयं च शङ्खप्रवरॊ येन जेतासि दानवान अनेन विजिता लॊकाः शक्रेणापि महात्मना ।। ३-१६५-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'Here is the finest of conchs; with this, you will vanquish the Danavas. With this, the high-souled Sakra (Indra) conquered the worlds.' ।। 3-165-21 ।।

english translation

ayaM ca zaGkhapravarò yena jetAsi dAnavAna anena vijitA lòkAH zakreNApi mahAtmanA || 3-165-21 ||

hk transliteration

परदीयमानं देवैस तु देवदत्तं जलॊद्भवम परत्यहृह्णं जयायैनं सतूयमानस तदामरैः ।। ३-१६५-२२ ।।

sanskrit

'Saying this, the gods presented to me the conch, Devadatta, born from the ocean depths, and I accepted it for the sake of victory.' ।। 3-165-22 ।।

english translation

paradIyamAnaM devaisa tu devadattaM jalòdbhavama paratyahRhNaM jayAyainaM satUyamAnasa tadAmaraiH || 3-165-22 ||

hk transliteration

स शङ्खी कवची बाणी परगृहीतशरासनः दानवालयम अत्युग्रं परयातॊ ऽसमि युयुत्सया ।। ३-१६५-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'At that moment, the gods praised me, and to fulfill my task, I set out towards the formidable stronghold of the Danavas, equipped with the conch, armor, arrows, and my bow.' ।। 3-165-23 ।।

sa zaGkhI kavacI bANI paragRhItazarAsanaH dAnavAlayama atyugraM parayAtò 'sami yuyutsayA || 3-165-23 ||
