ततॊ ऽतुष्यत सहस्राक्षस तेन कामेन मे विभुः एवं मे वसतॊ राजन्न एष कालॊ ऽतयगाद दिवि ॥ ३-१६५-१ ॥
'Having gained mastery over weapons and earned his trust, he who rides the divine steed Uchchaisrava (Indra), with a gesture of affection, patted my head and spoke these words.' ॥ 3-165-1 ॥
english translation
न तवम अद्य युधा जेतुं शक्यः सुरगणैर अपि किं पुनर मानुषे लॊके मानुषैर अकृतात्मभिः अप्रमेयॊ ऽपरधृष्यश च युद्धेष्व अप्रतिमस तथा ॥ ३-१६५-२ ॥
'Even the celestial beings are now incapable of conquering you; what then can be said of imperfect mortals dwelling on earth? You have become invincible in strength, unstoppable, and unmatched in battle.' ॥ 3-165-2 ॥
english translation
अथाब्रवीत पुनर देवः संप्रहृष्टतनूरुहः अस्त्रयुद्धे समॊ वीर न ते कश चिद भविष्यति ॥ ३-१६५-३ ॥
'Then, with his body hair standing on end, he addressed me once more, saying, 'O hero, in the art of weaponry, none is your equal.'' ॥ 3-165-3 ॥
english translation
अप्रमत्तः सदा दक्षः सत्यवादी जितेन्द्रियः बरह्मण्यश चास्त्रविच चासि शूराश चासि कुरूद्वह ॥ ३-१६५-४ ॥
'O perpetuator of the Kuru lineage, you are ever vigilant, skillful, truthful, self-controlled, the protector of the Brahmanas, proficient in weaponry, and a true warrior.' ॥ 3-165-4 ॥

अस्त्राणि समवाप्तानि तवया दश च पञ्च च पञ्चभिर विधिभिः पार्थ न तवया विद्यते समः ॥ ३-१६५-५ ॥
'O Partha, having acquired five and ten weapons through mastery of the five modes, there is none who can match your prowess.' ॥ 3-165-5 ॥
