ऊर्ध्वबाहुश चतुर्थं तु मासम अस्मि सथितस तदा न च मे हीयते पराणस तद अद्भुतम इवाभवत ।। ३-१६३-१६ ।।

sanskrit

'In the fourth month, I remained with my arms raised, and it was a wonder that I did not lose any strength.' ।। 3-163-16 ।।

english translation

UrdhvabAhuza caturthaM tu mAsama asmi sathitasa tadA na ca me hIyate parANasa tada adbhutama ivAbhavata || 3-163-16 ||

'And it came to pass that when the first day of the fifth month had passed, a being appeared before me in the form of a boar.' ।। 3-163-17 ।।

'It was turning up the earth with its mouth, stamping the ground with its feet, rubbing its breast against the earth, and moving about in a terrifying manner.' ।। 3-163-18 ।।

'And following him was a great being in the guise of a hunter, equipped with a bow, arrows, and a sword, surrounded by women.' ।। 3-163-19 ।।

anu tasyAparaM bhUtaM mahata kairAta saMsthitama dhanura bANAsimata parAptaM satrIgaNAnugataM tadA || 3-163-19 ||

'Thereupon, taking my bow and the two inexhaustible quivers, I struck that terrible and frightful creature with arrows.' ।। 3-163-20 ।।
