नानृते कुरुषे भावं कच चिद धर्मे च वर्तसे मता पित्रॊश च ते वृत्तिः कच चित पार्थ न सीदति ॥ ३-१५६-६ ॥
'Do you remain steadfast in truth, and are you committed to the path of virtue? And, O Partha, does your conduct align with the will of your ancestors, or does it not bring them honor?' ॥ 3-156-6 ॥
english translation
कच चित ते गुरवः सर्वे वृद्धा वैद्याश च पूजिताः कच चिन न कुरुषे भावं पार्थ पापेषु कर्मसु ॥ ३-१५६-७ ॥
'Are all your superiors, the elders, and those learned in the Vedas duly honored by you? And, O son of Pritha, do you not incline towards sinful acts?' ॥ 3-156-7 ॥
english translation
सुकृतं परतिकर्तुं च कच्चिद धातुं च दुष्कृतम यथान्यायं कुरुश्रेष्ठ जानासि न च कत्थसे ॥ ३-१५६-८ ॥
'O best of the Kurus, do you know how to perform virtuous deeds and avoid sinful acts? Do you refrain from self-exaltation?' ॥ 3-156-8 ॥
english translation
यथार्हं मानिताः कच चित तवया नन्दन्ति साधवः वनेष्व अपि वसन कच चिद धर्मम एवानुवर्तसे ॥ ३-१५६-९ ॥
'Have the righteous, who are worthy of respect, been duly honoured by you, and do they rejoice in your presence? Even while dwelling in the forest, do you faithfully adhere to virtue?' ॥ 3-156-9 ॥
english translation
कच चिद धौम्यस तवद आचारैर न पार्थ परितप्यते दानधर्मतपः शौचैर आर्जवेन तितिक्षया ॥ ३-१५६-१० ॥
'And, O Partha, does not Dhaumya grieve over your conduct? Do you follow the ways of your ancestors, through charity, religious observances, asceticism, purity, sincerity, and forgiveness?' ॥ 3-156-10 ॥
