पितृपैतामहं वृत्तं कच चित पार्थानुवर्तसे कच चिद राजर्षियातेन पथा गच्छसि पाण्डव ॥ ३-१५६-११ ॥
'O Partha, do you follow the conduct of your fathers and grandfathers? And, O Pandava, do you walk the path shown by the royal sages?' ॥ 3-156-11 ॥
english translation
सवे सवे किल कुले जाते पुत्रे नप्तरि वा पुनः पितरः पितृलॊकस्थाः शॊचन्ति च हसन्ति च ॥ ३-१५६-१२ ॥
'Upon the birth of a son in their line, the Pitris in their realms both laugh and grieve.' ॥ 3-156-12 ॥
english translation
किं नव अस्य दुष्कृते ऽसमाभिः संप्राप्तव्यं भविष्यति किं चास्य सुकृते ऽसमाभिः पराप्तव्यम इति शॊभनम ॥ ३-१५६-१३ ॥
'Pondering whether the sinful actions of this child will bring harm to them, or whether his virtuous deeds will lead to their welfare.' ॥ 3-156-13 ॥

पिता माता तथैवाग्निर गुरुर आत्मा च पञ्चमः यस्यैते पूजिताः पार्थ तस्य लॊकाव उभौ जितौ ॥ ३-१५६-१४ ॥
'He who reveres his father, mother, preceptor, Agni, and the soul, conquers both the earthly and heavenly realms.' ॥ 3-156-14 ॥

अब्भक्षा वायुभक्षाश च पलवमाना विहायसा जुषन्ते पर्वतश्रेष्ठम ऋषयः पर्व संधिषु ॥ ३-१५६-१५ ॥
'During the Parvas, sages who subsist on air and water come to this supreme mountain, traversing through the sky.' ॥ 3-156-15 ॥
