[वै] युधिष्ठिरस तम आसाद्य तपसा दग्धकिल्बिषम अभ्यवादयत परीतः शिरसा नाम कीर्तयन ।। ३-१५६-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana continued, "Approaching the one whose sins had been burned away through asceticism, Yudhishthira announced his name and, filled with joy, respectfully greeted him, bowing his head."' ।। 3-156-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] yudhiSThirasa tama AsAdya tapasA dagdhakilbiSama abhyavAdayata parItaH zirasA nAma kIrtayana || 3-156-1 ||

'Then Krishna, Bhima, and the devout twins, having bowed their heads in reverence to the royal sage, stood around him, showing their respect.' ।। 3-156-2 ।।

तथैव धौम्यॊ धर्मज्ञः पाण्डवानां पुरॊहितः यथान्यायम उपाक्रान्तस तम ऋषिं संशितव्रतम ।। ३-१५६-३ ।।

sanskrit

'Similarly, Dhaumya, the knower of dharma and the priest of the Pandavas, approached that sage who was devoted to strict austerities, and, in accordance with proper ritual, offered his respects.' ।। 3-156-3 ।।

'With his prophetic vision, the sage, already aware of their identity, recognized those foremost of the Kurus, the sons of Pandu. And he said to them, "Please, take your seats."' ।। 3-156-4 ।।

anvajAnAta sa dharmajJò munira divyena cakSuSA pANDòH putrAna kuruzreSThAna AsyatAma iti cAbravIta || 3-156-4 ||
