धातुभिश च सरिद्भिश च किंनरैर मृगपक्षिभिः गन्धर्वैर अप्सरॊभिश च कानकैश च मनॊरमैः ॥ ३-१५५-८६ ॥
'And, O mighty foe-slayer, behold this mountain adorned with precious minerals, winding rivulets, beautiful forests, diverse beasts all enchanting in their beauty. ' ॥ 3-155-86 ॥
english translation
वयालैश च विविधाकारैः शतशीर्षैः समन्ततः उपेतं पश्य कौन्तेय शैलराजम अरिंदम ॥ ३-१५५-८७ ॥
'Behold, O Kounteya, this mountain king, surrounded on all sides by serpents of diverse forms, with a hundred heads.' ॥ 3-155-87 ॥
english translation
ते परीतमनसः शूराः पराप्ता गतिम अनुत्तमाम नातृप्यन पर्ततेन्द्रस्य दर्शनेन परंतपाः ॥ ३-१५५-८८ ॥
'Having reached a state of supreme bliss, the brave and mighty warriors, along with Draupadi and the noble Brahmanas, were filled with immense joy. They were not content, however, merely by gazing upon that sovereign of mountains.' ॥ 3-155-88 ॥

उपेतम अथ माल्यैश च फलवद्भिश च पादपैः आर्ष्टिषेणस्य राजर्षेर आश्रमं ददृशुस तदा ॥ ३-१५५-८९ ॥
'Next, they beheld the hermitage of the royal sage Arshtishena, adorned with flowers and fruit-bearing trees.' ॥ 3-155-89 ॥

ततस तं तीव्रतपसं कृशं धमनि संततम पारगं सर्वधर्माणाम आर्ष्टिषेणम उपागमन ॥ ३-१५५-९० ॥
'Then they approached Arshtishena, who was well-versed in the duties of strict austerities, his form resembling a skeleton, with bare muscles.' ॥ 3-155-90 ॥
