वयं राष्ट्रस्य गॊप्तारॊ रक्षितारश च राक्षस राष्ट्रस्यारक्ष्यमाणस्य कुतॊ भूतिः कुतः सुखम ॥ ३-१५४-११ ॥
'O Rakshasa, we are the guardians, rulers, and instructors of kingdoms. If kingdoms remain unprotected, how can prosperity and happiness arise?' ॥ 3-154-11 ॥
english translation
न च राजावमन्तव्यॊ रक्षसा जात्व अनागसि अणुर अप्य अपचारश च नास्त्य अस्माकं नराशन ॥ ३-१५४-१२ ॥
'Unless there is an offence, a Rakshasa should not violate a king. O man-eater, we have never committed any wrong, not even the slightest.' ॥ 3-154-12 ॥
english translation
दरॊग्धव्यं न च मित्रेषु न विश्वस्तेषु कर्हि चित येषां चान्नानि भुञ्जीत यत्र च सयात परतिश्रयः ॥ ३-१५४-१३ ॥
'We live on the fruits of sacrifice, serving the gods and others to the best of our ability. We are never intent on humbling ourselves before superiors or Brahmanas. A friend, one who has placed trust in you, he whose food you have partaken, and one who has offered you shelter—none of these should ever be harmed.' ॥ 3-154-13 ॥

स तवं परतिश्रये ऽसमाकं पूज्यमानः सुखॊषितः भुक्त्वा चान्नानि दुष्प्रज्ञ कथम अस्माञ जिहीर्षसि ॥ ३-१५४-१४ ॥
'Thou hast lived here in our abode, treated with honor and happiness. And, O wicked one, having partaken of our food, how canst thou now carry us off?' ॥ 3-154-14 ॥

एवम एव वृथाचारॊ वृथा वृद्धॊ वृथा मतिः वृथा मरणम अर्हस तवं वृथाद्य न भविष्यसि ॥ ३-१५४-१५ ॥
'Since your actions are so misguided, and you have aged without any gain, with evil tendencies, you deserve to die for no purpose, and today, for no reason, you shall meet your end.' ॥ 3-154-15 ॥
