[भीम] पाण्डवॊ भीमसेनॊ ऽहं धर्मपुत्राद अनन्तरः विशालां बदरीं पराप्तॊ भरातृभिः सह राक्षसाः ॥ ३-१५२-१ ॥

'Bhima said, "I am the son of Pandu, born immediately after the righteous Yudhishthira, and my name is Bhimasena. O Rakshasas, I have come with my brothers to the vast Badari forest."' ॥ 3-152-1 ॥

english translation

[bhIma] pANDavò bhImasenò 'haM dharmaputrAda anantaraH vizAlAM badarIM parAptò bharAtRbhiH saha rAkSasAH ॥ 3-152-1 ॥

अपश्यत तत्र पञ्चाली सौगन्धिकम अनुत्तमम अनिलॊढम इतॊ नूनं सा बहूनि परीप्सति ॥ ३-१५२-२ ॥

'At that spot, Panchali saw a superb Saugandhika lotus, undoubtedly carried here by the wind from this region.' ॥ 3-152-2 ॥

english translation

apazyata tatra paJcAlI saugandhikama anuttamama anilòDhama itò nUnaM sA bahUni parIpsati ॥ 3-152-2 ॥

तस्या मामानवद्याङ्ग्या धर्मपत्न्याः परिये सथितम पुष्पाहारम इह पराप्तं निबॊधत निशाचराः ॥ ३-१५२-३ ॥

'She desires to gather these flowers in abundance. Know, O Rakshasas, that I am here to fulfill the wish of my flawless wife, and have come to procure the flowers.' ॥ 3-152-3 ॥

tasyA mAmAnavadyAGgyA dharmapatnyAH pariye sathitama puSpAhArama iha parAptaM nibòdhata nizAcarAH ॥ 3-152-3 ॥

[र-स] आक्रीडॊ ऽयं कुबेरस्य दयितः पुरुषर्षभ नेह शक्यं मनुष्येण विहर्तुं मर्त्यधर्मिणा ॥ ३-१५२-४ ॥

'Thereupon, the Rakshasas said, "O foremost of men, this place is beloved by Kubera and is his sacred playground. Mortals, bound by death, cannot partake in its revelry."' ॥ 3-152-4 ॥

[ra-sa] AkrIDò 'yaM kuberasya dayitaH puruSarSabha neha zakyaM manuSyeNa vihartuM martyadharmiNA ॥ 3-152-4 ॥

देवर्षयस तथा यक्षा देवाश चात्र वृकॊदर आमन्त्र्य यक्षप्रवरं पिबन्ति विहरन्ति च गन्धर्वाप्सरसश चैव विहरन्त्य अत्र पाण्डव ॥ ३-१५२-५ ॥

'O Vrikodara, the celestial sages and the gods, with the permission of the chief of the Yakshas, drink from this lake and sport in it. And, O Pandava, the Gandharvas and Apsaras also enjoy their revelry here.' ॥ 3-152-5 ॥

english translation

devarSayasa tathA yakSA devAza cAtra vRkòdara Amantrya yakSapravaraM pibanti viharanti ca gandharvApsarasaza caiva viharantya atra pANDava ॥ 3-152-5 ॥
