[वै] स गत्वा नलिनीं रम्यां राक्षसैर अभिरक्षिताम कैलासशिखरे रम्ये ददर्श शुभकानने ।। ३-१५१-१ ।।

sanskrit

'Vaisampayana said, "Upon arriving at that location, Bhimasena beheld, near the Kailasa cliff, a beautiful lotus lake encircled by enchanting woods, and guarded by the Rakshasas."' ।। 3-151-1 ।।

english translation

[vai] sa gatvA nalinIM ramyAM rAkSasaira abhirakSitAma kailAsazikhare ramye dadarza zubhakAnane || 3-151-1 ||

'And it sprang from the cascades near the abode of Kubera. It was a sight of beauty, adorned with expansive shade, abundant in diverse trees and creepers, and covered with lush green lotuses.' ।। 3-151-2 ।।

'A divine lotus pond covered in green, adorned with golden lotuses, becoming a sacred place for the world, beautiful and wonderful to behold.' ।। 3-151-3 ।।

तत्रामृत रसं शीतं लघु कुन्तीसुतः शुभम ददर्श विमलं तॊयं शिवं बहु च पाण्डवः ।। ३-१५१-४ ।।

'It was a marvel of the world, healthful and captivating in its beauty. In that lake, the son of Kunti saw the ambrosial water—cool, light, clear, and refreshing, and the Pandava drank of it abundantly.' ।। 3-151-4 ।।

tatrAmRta rasaM zItaM laghu kuntIsutaH zubhama dadarza vimalaM tòyaM zivaM bahu ca pANDavaH || 3-151-4 ||

तां तु पुष्करिणीं रम्यां पद्मसौगन्धिकायुताम जातरूपमयैः पद्मैश छन्नां परमगन्धिभिः ।। ३-१५१-५ ।।

'And that ethereal reservoir of water was covered with celestial Saugandhika lotuses, and adorned with beautiful, variegated golden lotuses of exquisite fragrance, their graceful stalks resembling lapis lazuli.' ।। 3-151-5 ।।

tAM tu puSkariNIM ramyAM padmasaugandhikAyutAma jAtarUpamayaiH padmaiza channAM paramagandhibhiH || 3-151-5 ||
