सत्यात परच्यवमानानां वयाधयॊ बहवॊ ऽभवन कामाश चॊपद्रवाश चैव तदा दैवतकारिताः ॥ ३-१४८-३० ॥
'As intellect waned, only a few remained steadfast in truth. When people strayed from truth, they became vulnerable to various ailments. This was followed by the rise of lust and natural calamities.' ॥ 3-148-30 ॥
