सुसमीकृत भूभागे सवभावविहिते शुभे जातां हिममृदु सपर्शे देशे ऽपहत कन्तके ॥ ३-१४५-२१ ॥
'The spot was smooth, naturally healthful, beautiful, cool, and had a soft, refreshing feel.' ॥ 3-145-21 ॥

susamIkRta bhUbhAge savabhAvavihite zubhe jAtAM himamRdu saparze deze 'pahata kantake ॥ 3-145-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptताम उपैत्य महात्मानः सह तैर बराह्मणर्षभैः अवतेरुस ततः सर्वे राक्षस सकन्धतः शनैः ॥ ३-१४५-२२ ॥
'Having reached that tree, the high-souled ones, accompanied by the Brahmanas, gently alighted from the shoulders of the Rakshasas.' ॥ 3-145-22 ॥
english translation
tAma upaitya mahAtmAnaH saha taira barAhmaNarSabhaiH avaterusa tataH sarve rAkSasa sakandhataH zanaiH ॥ 3-145-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततस तम आश्रमं पुण्यं नरनारायणाश्रितम ददृशुः पाण्डवा राजन सहिता दविजपुंगवैः ॥ ३-१४५-२३ ॥
'Then, accompanied by the foremost of the Brahmanas, the Pandavas beheld that sacred and enchanting hermitage, presided over by Nara and Narayana.' ॥ 3-145-23 ॥

tatasa tama AzramaM puNyaM naranArAyaNAzritama dadRzuH pANDavA rAjana sahitA davijapuMgavaiH ॥ 3-145-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतमसा रहितं पुण्यम अनामृष्टं रवेः करैः कषुत तृट शीतॊष्णदॊषैश च वर्जितं शॊकनाशनम ॥ ३-१४५-२४ ॥
'It was free from gloom, sacred, untouched by the sun’s rays, and devoid of hunger, thirst, heat, and cold, dispelling all sorrow.' ॥ 3-145-24 ॥

tamasA rahitaM puNyama anAmRSTaM raveH karaiH kaSuta tRTa zItòSNadòSaiza ca varjitaM zòkanAzanama ॥ 3-145-24 ॥

'And it was crowded with hosts of mighty sages, adorned with the grace derived from the Vedas—Saman, Rig, and Yajus—and, O king, it was inaccessible to those who had renounced righteousness.' ॥ 3-145-25 ॥
