[देवाह] मैवं कृथा यवक्रीत यथा वदसि वै मुने ऋते गुरुम अधीता हि सुखं वेदास तवया पुरा ।। ३-१३९-२१ ।।

sanskrit

'The gods then said, "O Yavakri, never act as you have done before. What you ask is indeed possible, for you acquired knowledge of the Vedas without effort and without the guidance of a teacher."' ।। 3-139-21 ।।

english translation

[devAha] maivaM kRthA yavakrIta yathA vadasi vai mune Rte guruma adhItA hi sukhaM vedAsa tavayA purA || 3-139-21 ||

hk transliteration

अनेन तु गुरून दुःखात तॊषयित्वा सवकर्मणा कालेन महता कलेशाद बरह्माधिगतम उत्तमम ।। ३-१३९-२२ ।।

sanskrit

'But this man, Raivya, enduring many hardships, pleased his preceptor through his conduct and, after great effort and over a long period of time, received the supreme knowledge of the Vedas.' ।। 3-139-22 ।।

english translation

anena tu gurUna duHkhAta tòSayitvA savakarmaNA kAlena mahatA kalezAda barahmAdhigatama uttamama || 3-139-22 ||

hk transliteration

[ल] यवक्रीतम अथॊक्त्वैवं देवाः साग्निपुरॊगमाः संजीवयित्वा तान सर्वान पुनर जग्मुस तरिविष्टपम ।। ३-१३९-२३ ।।

sanskrit

'Lomasa said, "Having spoken thus to Yavakri and restored all to life, the gods, with Indra at their head, ascended to the heavens."' ।। 3-139-23 ।।

english translation

[la] yavakrItama athòktvaivaM devAH sAgnipurògamAH saMjIvayitvA tAna sarvAna punara jagmusa tariviSTapama || 3-139-23 ||

hk transliteration

आश्रमस तस्य पुण्यॊ ऽयं सदा पुष्पफलद्रुमः अत्रॊष्य राजशार्दूल सर्वपापैः परमॊक्ष्यसे ।। ३-१३९-२४ ।।

sanskrit

'O Yudhishthira, here lies the sacred hermitage of that sage, adorned with trees that bear blossoms and fruits in every season. O tiger among kings, by dwelling here, you shall be freed from all your sins.' ।। 3-139-24 ।।

english translation

Azramasa tasya puNyò 'yaM sadA puSpaphaladrumaH atròSya rAjazArdUla sarvapApaiH paramòkSyase || 3-139-24 ||
