[ल] उशीरबीजं मैनाकं गिरिं शवेतं च भारत समतीतॊ ऽसि कौन्तेय कालशैलं च पार्थिव ॥ ३-१४०-१ ॥
'Lomasa said, "O descendant of Bharata, O king, you have now passed beyond the mountains Usiravija, Mainaka, and Sweta, as well as the hills of Kala."' ॥ 3-140-1 ॥
english translation
एषा गङ्गा सप्त विधा राजते भरतर्षभ सथानं विरजसं रम्यं यत्राग्निर नित्यम इध्यते ॥ ३-१४०-२ ॥
'O son of Kunti, O bull among the descendants of Bharata, before you flow the seven streams of the Ganga. This place is pure and sacred, where Agni burns constantly without interruption.' ॥ 3-140-2 ॥
english translation
एतद वै मानुषेणाद्य न शक्यं दरष्टुम अप्य उत समाधिं कुरुताव्यग्रास तीर्थान्य एतानि दरक्ष्यथ ॥ ३-१४०-३ ॥
'None of Manu's descendants can witness this marvel. Therefore, O son of Pandu, focus your mind so that you may behold these holy places with unwavering attention.' ॥ 3-140-3 ॥
english translation
शवेतं गिरिं परवेक्ष्यामॊ मन्दरं चैव पर्वतम यत्र मानि चरॊ यक्षः कुवेरश चापि यक्षराट ॥ ३-१४०-४ ॥
'Now, you shall behold the playground of the gods, marked by their footprints, as we have passed the Kala mountain. We shall now ascend the white rock, the mountain Mandara, home to the Yakshas, Manibhadra and Kuvera, the king of the Yakshas.' ॥ 3-140-4 ॥

अष्टाशीति सहस्राणि गन्धर्वाः शीघ्रचारिणः तथा किंपुरुषा राजन यक्षाश चैव चतुर्गुणाः ॥ ३-१४०-५ ॥
'O king, in this place, eighty thousand swift Gandharvas, and four times as many Kimpurushas and Yakshas of diverse forms, armed with various weapons, attend upon Manibhadra, the king of the Yakshas.' ॥ 3-140-5 ॥
