तं सम दृष्ट्वा पुरा सर्वे परत्युत्तिष्ठन्ति पावकाः न तव एनम उपतिष्ठन्ति हतपुत्रं तदाग्नयः ॥ ३-१३८-२ ॥

sanskrit

'However, on that day, the sacrificial fires, which would customarily greet him with their divine presence, did not come forth, for his heart was heavy with the grief of his son's death' ॥ 3-138-2 ॥

english translation

taM sama dRSTvA purA sarve paratyuttiSThanti pAvakAH na tava enama upatiSThanti hataputraM tadAgnayaH ॥ 3-138-2 ॥
