बराह्मणानां किलार्थाय ननु तवं तप्तवांस तपः दविजानाम अनधीता वै वेदाः संप्रतिभान्त्व इति ॥ ३-१३८-१० ॥
'He said, "O my son, it was for the welfare of the Brahmanas that you practiced penances, with the intention that the Vedas, though not studied by any Brahmana, might be revealed to you."' ॥ 3-138-10 ॥
