रुदन्तीं च सनुषां दृष्ट्वा भार्याम आर्तां परावसॊः सान्त्वयञ शलक्ष्णया वाचा पर्यपृच्छद युधिष्ठिर ॥ ३-१३७-६ ॥
'O Yudhishthira, seeing her in sorrow, he comforted her with gentle words and inquired about the cause of her distress. Thereupon, the young maiden recounted to him all that Yavakri had said to her, and what she, in turn, had cleverly replied.' ॥ 3-137-6 ॥
english translation
सा तस्मै सर्वम आचष्ट यवक्री भाषितं शुभा परत्युक्तं च यवक्रीतं परेक्षापूर्वं तदात्मना ॥ ३-१३७-७ ॥
'Upon hearing of this grievous misdeed of Yavakri, the sage's mind was inflamed with fury, and he became exceedingly wrathful.' ॥ 3-137-7 ॥
english translation
शृण्वानस्यैव रैभ्यस्य यवक्रीत विचेष्टितम दहन्न इव तदा चेतः करॊधः समभवन महान ॥ ३-१३७-८ ॥
'Upon hearing about Yavakrita's conduct/activities, great anger arose in Raibhya, as if burning his heart/mind at that time.' ॥ 3-137-8 ॥

स तदा मन्युनाविष्टस तपस्वी भृशकॊपनः अवलुप्य जटाम एकां जुहावाग्नौ सुसंस्कृते ॥ ३-१३७-९ ॥
'Seized by intense anger, the great sage, known for his fiery temper, tore a matted lock of his hair and, chanting sacred mantras, cast it into the holy fire as an offering.' ॥ 3-137-9 ॥

ततः समभवन नारी तस्या रूपेण संमिता अवलुप्यापरां चाथ जुहावाग्नौ जटां पुनः ॥ ३-१३७-१० ॥
'Then, in his fury, he plucked another matted lock of his hair and cast it into the fire as a sacrifice.' ॥ 3-137-10 ॥
