[ल] चङ्क्रम्यमाणः स तदा यवक्रीर अकुतॊभयः जगाम माधवे मासि रैभ्याश्रमपदं परति ॥ ३-१३७-१ ॥

'Then, the fearless Yavakrita, while wandering about, went towards Raibhya's hermitage in the month of Madhava (spring).' ॥ 3-137-1 ॥

english translation

स ददर्शाश्रमे पुण्ये पुष्पितद्रुमभूषिते विचरन्तीं सनुषां तस्य किंनरीम इव भारत ॥ ३-१३७-२ ॥

'One day, during the month of Chaitra, while wandering freely without fear, Yavakri came upon the hermitage of Raivya. O son of Bharata, in that enchanting hermitage, adorned with trees in full bloom, he saw Raivya's daughter-in-law walking gracefully, her beauty resembling that of a Kinnara woman.' ॥ 3-137-2 ॥

english translation

यवक्रीस ताम उवाचेदम उपतिष्ठस्व माम इति निर्लज्जॊ लज्जया युक्तां कामेन हृतचेतनः ॥ ३-१३७-३ ॥

'Overcome by passion and senseless, Yavakri shamelessly spoke to the bashful maiden, saying, 'Be thou mine.' His mind led astray by lust, though she was already filled with modesty.' ॥ 3-137-3 ॥

english translation

सा तस्य शीलम आज्ञाय तस्माच छापाच च बिभ्यती तेजस्वितां च रैभ्यस्य तथेत्य उक्त्वा जगाम सा ॥ ३-१३७-४ ॥

'Fearing a curse and knowing his nature, yet mindful of Raivya’s power, she reluctantly agreed and approached him, saying, 'I consent.' After saying this, she left him and went away.' ॥ 3-137-4 ॥

english translation

तत एकान्तम उन्नीय मज्जयाम आस भारत आजगाम तदा रैभ्यः सवम आश्रमम अरिंदम ॥ ३-१३७-५ ॥

'Then, O son of Bharata, she took him aside in private and bound him. Upon returning to his hermitage, Raivya found his daughter-in-law, Paravasu’s wife, in tears.' ॥ 3-137-5 ॥
