अहं पुत्रॊ वरुणस्यॊत राज्ञस; तत्रास सत्रं दवादश वार्षिकं वै सत्रेण ते जनक तुल्यकालं; तदर्थं ते परहिता मे दविजाग्र्याः ॥ ३-१३४-२४ ॥
'Vandin then responded, "O Janaka, I am the son of King Varuna. Along with your sacrifice, another sacrifice has begun, lasting twelve years. It is for this reason that I have sent the principal Brahmanas to that sacred rite."' ॥ 3-134-24 ॥
