[र] आशंससे बन्दिनं तवं विजेतुम; अविज्ञात्वा वाक्यबलं परस्य विज्ञात वीर्यैः शक्यम एवं; परवक्तुं दृष्टश चासौ बराह्मणैर वादशीलैः ॥ ३-१३३-१९ ॥
'Thereupon the king replied, "O Brahmana, thou art eager to defeat Vandin, but thou art unaware of his mastery over speech. Those who are familiar with his eloquence would not speak as thou dost. He has been tested by Brahmanas well-versed in the Vedas.' ॥ 3-133-19 ॥
