दासी भावेन भॊक्तुं माम ईषुस ते मधुसूदन जीवत्सु पाण्डुपुत्रेषु पाञ्चालेष्व अथ वृष्णिषु ॥ ३-१३-५६ ॥

'O Krishna, even while the Pandavas, the Panchalas, and the Vrishnis were alive, they had the audacity to treat me as their servant!' ॥ 3-13-56 ॥

dAsI bhAvena bhòktuM mAma ISusa te madhusUdana jIvatsu pANDuputreSu pAJcAleSva atha vRSNiSu ॥ 3-13-56 ॥

'According to the laws, I am the daughter-in-law of both Dhritarashtra and Bhishma! Yet I have been forcibly made a slave.' ॥ 3-13-57 ॥

गर्हये पाण्डवांस तव एव युधि शरेष्ठान महाबलान ये कलिश्यमानां परेक्षन्ते धर्मपत्नीं यशस्विनीम ॥ ३-१३-५८ ॥

'I blame the mighty Pandavas, who are renowned in battle, for they witnessed their wedded wife, known throughout the world, being treated with such cruelty without intervening.' ॥ 3-13-58 ॥

garhaye pANDavAMsa tava eva yudhi zareSThAna mahAbalAna ye kalizyamAnAM parekSante dharmapatnIM yazasvinIma ॥ 3-13-58 ॥

'Alas, the strength of Bhimasena and the Gandiva of Arjuna is to be scorned, for they allowed me to be disgraced by mere men!' ॥ 3-13-59 ॥

शाश्वतॊ ऽयं धर्मपथः सद्भिर आचरितः सदा यद भार्यां परिरक्षन्ति भर्तारॊ ऽलपबला अपि ॥ ३-१३-६० ॥

'This eternal path of righteousness, followed by the virtuous, dictates that a husband, no matter how weak, should protect his wife.' ॥ 3-13-60 ॥
