अस्मत परमुखैर वि शिखैर जितारिस; ततॊ महीं भॊक्ष्यति धर्मराजः निर धार्तराष्ट्रां हतसूतपुत्राम; एतद धि नः कृत्यतमं यशश्यम ।। ३-१२०-२१ ।।

'Afterwards, the virtuous king shall rule the earth, with all his foes vanquished by our arrows in battle. No sons of Dhritarashtra will remain, nor the son of the charioteer, Karna. This is our foremost duty, and it will surely bring us lasting fame.' ।। 3-120-21 ।।

[वासु] असंशयं माधव सत्यम एतद; गृह्णीम ते वाक्यम अदीनसत्त्व सवाभ्यां भुजाभ्याम अजितां तु भूमिं; नेच्छेत कुरूणाम ऋषभः कथं चित ।। ३-१२०-२२ ।।

'Krishna said, 'O descendant of the Madhus! Without a doubt, your words are true, and we accept them, for your courage is unwavering. Yet this noble Kuru, Yudhishthira, would never accept sovereignty over the earth unless it were won by the strength of his own arms.'' ।। 3-120-22 ।।

[vAsu] asaMzayaM mAdhava satyama etada; gRhNIma te vAkyama adInasattva savAbhyAM bhujAbhyAma ajitAM tu bhUmiM; neccheta kurUNAma RSabhaH kathaM cita || 3-120-22 ||

'Yudhishthira would never abandon the principles of his duty for the sake of pleasure, fear, or greed. Neither would the mighty heroes Bhima and Arjuna, when mounted on their chariots, nor the twin brothers, nor Krishna, the son of Drupada.' ।। 3-120-23 ।।

na haya eSa kAmAna na bhayAna na lòbhAda; yudhiSThirò jAtu jahyAta savadharmama bhImArjunau cAti rathau yamau vA; tathaiva kRSNA darupadAtma jeyama || 3-120-23 ||

'Bhima, with the appetite of a wolf, and Arjuna, the conqueror of riches, are unmatched in battle throughout the world. Why should this king not rule over the entire earth, especially with the support of the two sons of Madri?' ।। 3-120-24 ।।

ubhau hi yuddhe 'paratimau pRthivyAM; vRkòdaraza caiva dhanaMjayaza ca kasmAna na kRtsnAM pRthivIM parazAsena; mAdrI sutAbhyAMca puraskRtò 'yama || 3-120-24 ||

'The noble ruler of Panchala, alongside the Kekaya king, along with us, should combine our strength; then, the enemies of Yudhishthira would surely be annihilated.' ।। 3-120-25 ।।
