यः पार्थिवान एकरथेन वीरॊ; दिशं परतीचीं परति युद्धशौण्डः सॊ ऽयं वने मूलफलेन जीवञ; जटी चरत्य अद्य मलाचिताङ्गः ॥ ३-११९-१९ ॥

sanskrit

'And Nakula, the valiant warrior who single-handedly defeated the rulers of the western regions, now roams the forest, surviving on fruits and roots, his hair matted and his body covered in dirt.' ॥ 3-119-19 ॥

english translation

yaH pArthivAna ekarathena vIrò; dizaM paratIcIM parati yuddhazauNDaH sò 'yaM vane mUlaphalena jIvaJa; jaTI caratya adya malAcitAGgaH ॥ 3-119-19 ॥
