परमथ्य चाश्रमात तस्माद धॊम धेन्वास तदा बलात जहार वत्सं करॊशन्त्या बभञ्ज च महाद्रुमान ॥ ३-११६-२१ ॥

'Ignoring the cow’s loud lowing, he forcefully seized and carried off the chief cow, from which the sacred butter was made, disregarding any resistance. And he ruthlessly uprooted the large trees of the forest.' ॥ 3-116-21 ॥

english translation

आगताय च रामाय तदाचष्ट पिता सवयम गां च रॊरूयतीं दृष्ट्वा कॊपॊ राम समाविशत ॥ ३-११६-२२ ॥

'When Rama returned home, his father recounted all that had transpired. Upon seeing the cow lamenting for her calf, resentment surged within him.' ॥ 3-116-22 ॥

english translation

स मन्युवशम आपन्नः कार्तवीर्यम उपाद्रवत तस्याथ युधि विक्रम्य भार्गवः परवीर हा ॥ ३-११६-२३ ॥

'He immediately rushed towards the son of Kartavirya, whose end was near. Then the descendant of Bhrigu, the destroyer of foes, displayed his valor on the battlefield.' ॥ 3-116-23 ॥

english translation

चिच्छेद निशितैर भल्लैर बाहून परिघसंनिभान सहस्रसंमितान राजन परगृह्य रुचिरं धनुः ॥ ३-११६-२४ ॥

'With sharpened arrows tipped like blades, shot from a beautifully crafted bow, he severed the thousand powerful arms of Kartavirya, which resembled stout wooden bars used to secure a door.' ॥ 3-116-24 ॥

english translation

अर्जुनस्याथ दाया दा रामेण कृतमन्यवः आश्रमस्थं विना रामं जमदग्निम उपाद्रवन ॥ ३-११६-२५ ॥

'Already marked by death, Kartavirya was overpowered by his foe, Rama. In the meantime, the kinsmen of Kartavirya, filled with fury against Rama, stormed the hermitage of Jamadagni while Rama was absent.' ॥ 3-116-25 ॥
