न कल्प्यन्ते समिधः किं नु तात; कच चिद धुतं चाग्निहॊत्रं तवयाद्य सुनिर्निक्तं सरुक सरुवं हॊमधेनुः; कच चित स वत्सा च कृता तवयाद्य ॥ ३-१११-२१ ॥
'My boy, why are you not hewing the logs for fuel? I trust you have performed the burnt offering ceremony today. Have you polished the sacrificial ladles and spoons, and brought the calf to the milch cow, whose milk provides the materials for the fire offerings?' ॥ 3-111-21 ॥
english translation
न वै यथापूर्वम इवासि पुत्र; चिन्तापरश चासि वि चेतनश च दीनॊ ऽति मात्रं तवम इहाद्य किं नु; पृच्छामि तवां क इहाद्यागतॊ ऽभूत ॥ ३-१११-२२ ॥
'Indeed, you are not in your usual state, O son! You appear pensive and seem to have lost your senses. Why are you so sad today? Allow me to ask, who has visited this place?' ॥ 3-111-22 ॥
