यथादृष्टं शरुतं चापि सागराणां कषयं तथा तं चास्मै हयम आचस्त यज्ञवाटम उपागतम ॥ ३-१०६-३१ ॥

'Just as he had seen and heard about the destruction of the Sagaras (Sagara's sons), he also told him about the horse that had returned to the sacrificial enclosure.' ॥ 3-106-31 ॥

english translation

yathAdRSTaM zarutaM cApi sAgarANAM kaSayaM tathA taM cAsmai hayama Acasta yajJavATama upAgatama ॥ 3-106-31 ॥

तच छरुत्वा सगरॊ राजा पुत्र जं दुःखम अत्यजत अंशुमन्तं च संपूज्य समापयत तं करतुम ॥ ३-१०६-३२ ॥

'Upon hearing this, King Sagara ceased to grieve for his sons. He praised and honored Aṁśumant and completed the sacrificial rites.' ॥ 3-106-32 ॥

taca charutvA sagarò rAjA putra jaM duHkhama atyajata aMzumantaM ca saMpUjya samApayata taM karatuma ॥ 3-106-32 ॥

समाप्तयज्ञः सगरॊ देवैः सर्वैः सभाजितः पुत्र तवे कल्पयाम आस समुद्रं वरुणालयम ॥ ३-१०६-३३ ॥

'Upon completing his sacrifice, Sagara was honorably greeted by all the gods. He transformed the sea, the dwelling place of Varuna, into a son of his own.' ॥ 3-106-33 ॥

samAptayajJaH sagarò devaiH sarvaiH sabhAjitaH putra tave kalpayAma Asa samudraM varuNAlayama ॥ 3-106-33 ॥

परशास्य सुचिरं कालं राज्यं राजीवलॊचनः पौत्रे भारं समावेश्य जगाम तरिदिवं तदा ॥ ३-१०६-३४ ॥

'And the lotus-eyed King Sagara, having ruled his kingdom for an extended period, entrusted his grandson with the responsibilities of the throne and then ascended to heaven.' ॥ 3-106-34 ॥

'And Aṁśumant, O great king! being virtuous in spirit, ruled over the world as far as the sea's edge, following in the footsteps of his grandfather.' ॥ 3-106-35 ॥
