It still burns within me, O Kṛṣṇa: that in the assembly, before the Kurus, I was grievously tormented by the Dhārtarāṣṭras—an event wholly inauspicious and harmful.

english translation

Banishment from the city and a life of wandering, O chastiser of adversaries—O Janārdana, I have become a dwelling-place of many kinds of hardships; and there was also the time of living incognito, and the confinement and vulnerability of the young, O Keśava.

english translation

O subduer of foes, no hardship has been more grievous for me, together with my sons, than the unrelenting injury wrought by Duryodhana—now stretching into this fourteenth year.

english translation

Even happiness may turn into suffering if it brings about the exhaustion of the fruit of accumulated merit. As for me, there was never any partiality between the Dhārtarāṣṭras and the Pāṇḍavas.

english translation

By that truth, O Kṛṣṇa, may I behold you crowned with prosperity and your foes brought to naught; and may I see you released from this martial contest together with the Pāṇḍavas. They cannot be overcome, for their resolve has ripened to that state.
