कृष्णमक्लिष्टकर्माणमासाद्यायं सुदुर्मतिः । तव पुत्रः सहामात्यः क्षणेन न भविष्यति॥५-८६-२१॥
“If this man of severely distorted judgment were to confront Kṛṣṇa—whose actions are unimpeded—your son, together with his ministers, would not remain secure even for a moment.”
english translation
पापस्यास्य नृशंसस्य त्यक्तधर्मस्य दुर्मतेः । नोत्सहेऽनर्थसंयुक्तां वाचं श्रोतुं कथंचन॥५-८६-२२॥
I am not able, in any way, to listen to speech that is joined to harmful intent, coming from this ethically compromised, ruthless person of distorted judgment who has abandoned dharma.
english translation
वैशंपायन उवाच । इत्युक्त्वा भरतश्रेष्ठो वृद्धः परममन्युमान् । उत्थाय तस्मात्प्रातिष्ठद्भीष्मः सत्यपराक्रमः॥५-८६-२३॥
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “Having spoken thus, the aged Bhīṣma—foremost among the Bharatas, intensely angered—rose from there and departed, he whose valor was grounded in truth.”
