तथा पापस्तु तत्सर्वं न करिष्यति कौरवः । तस्मिंश्चाक्रियमाणेऽसौ लोकवध्यो भविष्यति॥५-७७-११॥
Yet that sinful Kaurava will carry out none of it. If he persists in inaction, he will become subject to public censure and worldly sanction.
english translation
मम चापि स वध्यो वै जगतश्चापि भारत । येन कौमारके यूयं सर्वे विप्रकृतास्तथा॥५-७७-१२॥
To me as well he is worthy of punishment—and so too in the judgment of the whole world, O Bhārata—for it was he by whom all of you were wronged in your very youth.
english translation
विप्रलुप्तं च वो राज्यं नृशंसेन दुरात्मना । न चोपशाम्यते पापः श्रियं दृष्ट्वा युधिष्ठिरे॥५-७७-१३॥
And your kingdom was unlawfully seized by a cruel man of evil intent. Nor does that sinner restrain himself even after beholding prosperity, O Yudhiṣṭhira.
english translation
असकृच्चाप्यहं तेन त्वत्कृते पार्थ भेदितः । न मया तद्गृहीतं च पापं तस्य चिकीर्षितम्॥५-७७-१४॥
And again and again, for your sake, O Pārtha, he set me at odds and drove division. Yet I did not accept the sinful course he meant to pursue.
english translation
जानासि हि महाबाहो त्वमप्यस्य परं मतम् । प्रियं चिकीर्षमाणं च धर्मराजस्य मामपि॥५-७७-१५॥
You know it, O mighty-armed one: you know his settled resolve. And you know as well that I, too, seek to do what is beneficial for Dharmarāja.
