I would release the enraged Kurus and Sṛñjayas, the Pāṇḍavas and the Dhārtarāṣṭras—and indeed this entire earth—from the noose of death.

english translation

Yudhiṣṭhira said: This is not my view, O Kṛṣṇa, that you should go to the Kurus. Suyodhana will not act upon your words, even if they are well spoken.

english translation

With the assembled royal warrior-class following Suyodhana’s control, I do not approve, O Kṛṣṇa, of your entering into their midst.

english translation

For us, no wealth would be pleasing—nor divinity, much less comfort—nor even sovereignty over all the immortals, if it were obtained at the cost of restraining you, O Mādhava.

english translation

The Blessed One said: O great king, I know the sinfulness of Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son. Yet we, the rulers of the earth, would become objects of reproach throughout the whole world.
