We, accompanied by Kirātas, were going to the northern mountain, together with Brahmins—godlike in bearing—skilled in learning and disciplined in practice.

english translation

All around, the mountain Gandhamādana had become like a thicket—its clusters of medicinal plants shining forth—and it was frequented by Siddhas and Gandharvas.

english translation

There we all behold honey—already gathered, with no bees—set in a harsh desert ravine, upon uneven ground, in a measure equal to a jar.

english translation

It is guarded by venomous serpents, exceedingly dear to Kubera; by tasting it, a mortal is said to attain immortality.

english translation

“The blind gains sight; the aged indeed becomes young”—so, they say, the brāhmaṇas devoted to Jambha used to describe it.
