When Avanti, Kaliṅga, Jayadratha, Vedi-dhvaja, and Bāhlika stand upon the field, I shall continually strike down the opposing warriors—by the thousand and by the ten-thousand.

english translation

At the very moment he obtained that weapon from the blameless, venerable Rāma, while posing as a brāhmaṇa, in that same instant the dharma and ascetic merit of Vaikartana—the ignoble man—were already forfeited.

english translation

When King Bhīṣma had spoken, and when Karṇa, laying down his weapons, had departed, Duryodhana—the son of Vicitravīrya, said to be of scant discernment—addressed Śāṃtanava (Bhīṣma).
