He crossed to the far shore of the ocean and stormed Hiraṇyapura; in battle he slew sixty thousand Nivātakavacas.

english translation

Mighty-armed Arjuna, conqueror of hostile strongholds, having prevailed with Indra on behalf of the gods, satisfied Jātavedas (Agni). Likewise here, Nārāyaṇa also subdued many others.

english translation

Thus behold these two of great power who have arrived together—Vāsudeva and Arjuna, the two heroes, united as great chariot-warriors.

english translation

Śruti declares that Nara and Nārāyaṇa are primordial divinities. In the human world they are unconquerable—even by gods and asuras together with Indra.

english translation

This Kṛṣṇa is Nārāyaṇa, and Phalguna (Arjuna) is remembered as Nara. Nārāyaṇa and Nara are indeed one essential reality expressed in two forms.
