In the world, the great potency of fire lies hidden within pieces of wood; yet it does not make use of that wood until it is kindled by others.
english translation
But when that very fire is produced from the wood by friction and begins to blaze, then by its force it rapidly consumes both that forest and other forests as well.
english translation
So too, those born in noble lineages—whose energy is comparable to fire—may remain patient and outwardly unmanifest, lying like fire within wood.
english translation
You, together with your sons, are like a creeping vine; the sons of Pāṇḍu are regarded as great trees. A vine never grows without taking support from a large tree.
english translation
O King, son of Ambikā, you with your sons are the forest; understand the Pāṇḍavas to be the lions within that forest. A forest without lions would decline, and lions too would decline without the forest.
