One devoted to the pacification of all beings—truthful, gentle, charitable, and pure in intention—becomes conspicuously known among his kin, like a great jewel, naturally radiant and serene.

english translation

One who feels no profound shame before one’s own conscience becomes, indeed, a teacher to all the world. Endowed with boundless radiance—clear-minded and self-collected—one shines by one’s own inner power, like the sun.

english translation

Born in the forest, the five sons of King Pāṇḍu—whose life was consumed by a curse—are each comparable to Indra in prowess. Raised and educated by you from childhood, O son of Ambikā, they have been acting in accordance with your commands.

english translation

By granting them the kingdom that is rightfully theirs, dear sir, you will live at ease, rejoicing together with your sons. You will not become a subject of reproach—neither among the gods nor among human beings, O king.
