Indeed, Brahmins have performed rites and observances on my behalf; and yet—alas—they do not proceed as expected. Still, I behold results that seem rightly grounded; convey to that king that very conclusion.

english translation

And those who are without protectors and weak—who at all times strive only by their own means, though lacking discernment—those pitiable persons too you should, in every way, inquire after their welfare on my behalf, dear son.

english translation

And those others as well who have taken refuge with the Dhārtarāṣṭras, having arrived from various regions—O son of a charioteer—on seeing them, you should duly inquire of all of them about their welfare and security.

english translation

Thus, after inquiring about the welfare of all—both those who have come and those who are arriving—namely the king’s envoys who have approached from every direction, O Sūta, you should then convey to them that I am well.

english translation

For there are no others on earth like these combatants whom the Dhārtarāṣṭra has obtained. Yet my dharma is constant—indeed, my dharma is a great force for the strategic neutralization of adversaries.
