“When Śikhaṇḍin is neutralized in battle, he will regain his own form. Let the Yakṣa Sthūṇa be free from distress,”—thus spoke the magnanimous one.

english translation

Having spoken thus, the revered deity—honored by Yakṣas and Rākṣasas—departed together with them all, who could move within the interval of a blink.

english translation

Sthūṇa, having incurred the curse, remained there itself. And at the appointed time, Śikhaṇḍin indeed came to him—the nocturnal being.

english translation

Approaching him, he said, “Venerable one, I have come.” Then Sthūṇa replied to him again and again, “I am pleased.”

english translation

Seeing the prince Śikhaṇḍin come in straightforwardness, he recounted to Śikhaṇḍin the entire matter exactly as it had occurred.
