ततः शिखण्डी तत्सर्वमखिलेन न्यवेदयत् । तस्मै यक्षप्रधानाय स्थूणाकर्णाय भारत॥५-१९२-२६॥
Then Śikhaṇḍin reported everything in full to that chief of the Yakṣas, Sthūṇākarṇa, O Bhārata.
english translation
आपन्नो मे पिता यक्ष नचिराद्विनशिष्यति । अभियास्यति संक्रुद्धो दशार्णाधिपतिर्हि तम्॥५-१९२-२७॥
“My father is in distress, O Yakṣa, and before long he will be ruined. The lord of Daśārṇa, angered, will indeed advance against him.”
english translation
महाबलो महोत्साहः स हेमकवचो नृपः । तस्माद्रक्षस्व मां यक्ष पितरं मातरं च मे॥५-१९२-२८॥
“That king is of great strength and great resolve, and he wears golden armor. Therefore, O Yakṣa, protect me—and my father and mother as well.”
english translation
प्रतिज्ञातो हि भवता दुःखप्रतिनयो मम । भवेयं पुरुषो यक्ष त्वत्प्रसादादनिन्दितः॥५-१९२-२९॥
For you have indeed promised the removal of my suffering. O Yakṣa, by your favor may I become a man, free from reproach.
english translation
यावदेव स राजा वै नोपयाति पुरं मम । तावदेव महायक्ष प्रसादं कुरु गुह्यक॥५-१९२-३०॥
So long as that king has not yet reached my city, until then, O great Yakṣa—O Guhyaka—grant your favor; act decisively.
