Bṛhaspati said: “O Agni, you are the mouth of all the gods; you are the bearer of offerings. Hidden within all beings, you move as a witness.”

english translation

The sages call you one, and again they call you threefold. If you were to abandon this world, O consumer of offerings, it would perish at once.

english translation

Having offered reverence to you, the learned priests attain a state won through their own duties; they proceed to an enduring destination together with wives and sons as well.

english translation

You alone, O Agni, are the bearer of offerings, and you alone are the supreme oblation. In extended rites and in sacrifices of the highest order, they worship you alone.

english translation

Having generated these three worlds, O bearer of offerings, when the time arrives you again ‘cook’—transform—them when kindled. You alone, O Agni, are the origination of this entire cosmos, and again you become its foundation.
